A break for a glynnia I saved just for the day. Merry Christmas, or what you will!

Fireball
The soul-numbing sky-scorching terror of a close encounter with an astronomical body. How... suitable for the winter solstice ;)

Over the rooftops
A simple Sierpinski tile substituted with lazyjess - 'tis an awesome plugin for this style! I love the surreally recursive vistas of receding rooftops. Used the Stopping SL feature of Chaotica for the first time to retain a little grain.

Delta
Although this is only a simple twist on gnarled glynnias, the result is so different that it deserves its own moniker. Geological abstract? Whatever, it's something that needs to be rendered internally as Chaotica still renders some glynnias differently.

The Marginals
Crammed with hints and glimpses of lifeforms and entities that inhabit the margins between sea and sand, between land and air, between waking and dreaming, between organ and organism...

Eclipse garden
A secret garden thriving on the low light levels of the solar eclipse, and whose twisted vistas and outrageous foliage appear only to the initiated ;)

Dying embers
A tweak from a different region of the previous flame. These use a refinement of my texturing and painting techniques that I hope to post about shortly!

A schematic of the multiverse
Continuing a systematic, but leisurely, exploration of gaskets - this one's a reverse mobius-julian with a surprise structural tweak via the mobius variables.

The Numismatist's secret stash
"Practically quivering with suppressed glee, now that he'd committed himself, the Numismatist slid aside one of the large rugs and hauled open a large trapdoor in the polished wooden floor. By the light of the flickering torch in his hand, I beheld an amazing sight: coin from all the corners of the globe, in every conceivable hue of gold, in various patinas of age, splling, cascading, erupting, and fading into the darkest recesses of that underfloor treasure-house."

A dark assembly
First gnarled glynnia rendered with Chaotica that I'm happy with. Not the image I created in Apo (grain even at 4000), but still with its own charm.

Tactics
Couldn't resist a quick trial for Xyrus's GdOffs plugin!
Tactics® is a new electronic touchscreen game for 1 to 4 players. Like Marjjong, tiles are removed by simultaneously touching a pair of identical tiles. However, the game is raised to a much higher level by exchanging tiles, causing both tiles and sometimes some of the adjacent tiles to change form. As a two-player game, it surpasses chess in potential complexity.

The tempest
A brief respite from gnarled glynnias to try... a gnarled splits/elliptic! Inspired by Xyrus's Millenium, except I've broken up the regularity of the bwraps7 pattern with a couple of additions to obtain an appearance of raw energy suited to a violent storm. A natural diptych arising from the splits/elliptic base.
Rendered with Chaotica, full view essential.

Thy unholy garland
bone white bird head
conjoined skulls and crouching lizard
knobbly pterosaurs and demons worse
i call upon thee and thy legions
to go forth with talon and claw and pseudopod
and rain and rein and reign thy havoc
till order is no more, and chaos restor'd to her throne
- Erisian incantation concocted whilst the balance of mind was disturbed ;)

A sinister passage
Looking somewhere between a brackish backwater of the Underworld and an organo-tech nightmare from the latest computer game, this is a test run for two hitherto overlooked variations, pre_rotate_x and pre_rotate_y. I may yet find uses for their post_ counterparts...
