Triumph of the cherubim

What began as a search for a more general abstract form suddenly turned into this: I was reminded of vast dark canvases of scenes from religious mythology, their surfaces mantled with a network of hairline cracks, framed in ludicrously ornate gold Rococo.

The main feature

Some grain, and no doubt a little too much crackle for some, yet who can deny the power, the sheer arcing gravitational pull, of such a screen on the hushed auditorium?
