"And filling in, brimming in, sparkling and free
The sweet susurration of incoming sea."
from 'A Bay in Anglesey' by John Betjeman
My final entry in the Abstract Elements Contest, chosen to represent Water. Colour, wave motion and the circling school of fish motifs suggest the sea in calm mode, with a lulling-to-sleep motion.
I've been re-exploring the wedge_julia-lazysusan combination.

Burst

My second entry in this Abstract Elements Contest, chosen to represent Air. Invisible in itself, it manifests in a most awesome and destructive manner in the form of whirlwinds and the much larger hurricanes.

Stripped and packed

Bare floorboards, clean-swept; cupboards stripped to the shelves and dusted, the doors left open; the only objects the wooden packing trunks, all shut now, latched with ancient hasps. The end of a shared life.
Always another disc-julian up the sleeve ;)

Rainforest canopy

Perhaps surprisingly, this has its origins in the stained glass framework, still visible but not obvious.
My (first?) entry in this Abstract Elements Contest, chosen to represent the fifth element, Life, Spirit. Home to two-thirds of the Earth's species, the rainforest, for me, makes a pretty good representative of that element!

Watching you

Layer upon layer of surveillance. Let them eat their own fear.
Full view essential. Revisiting a style I discovered last year with fresh twists and first outing for the Invisibility feature.

The woven bowl

Full view essential to appreciate the manner in which the exquisitely-patterned tagliatelle tricolore has become intimately involved with moodily-lit masonic flooring :D

Chiffon fantasy 2

It's been some while since I last had a Chiffon fantasy :D Offers to join me in lavish drapery, on a note please, stating colour and any other preferences ;)
Flipped disc, a further tweak of Some enchanted forest.

Knower's ark

Like the owls in Twin Peaks, the panels are not what they seem ;) The Akashic records, fashioned into a Big Boat, the better to weather the coming storm.
More disc-julian tweakery.

The Wishing Well

When making your wish at the Wishing Well, wish well, lest your wish be granted from an unexpected angle...
Hint of The Monkey's Paw.
Original structure from EDJS1 Batch script (hex variant) - highly recommended for interesting edisc-julian base material.

A trip to the bookbinders'

For those who salivate at the palpable atmosphere surrounding old books; whose minds frolic to the dance of impossible Latin titles; or whose palms tingle at the thought of the touch of ancient volumes: let this take you on a journey directly into the arcane skills of the bookbinder. Not the mind, mind, but the thing itself, a space consisting only of bookbinding, where that is all there is to see and be.
I like revisiting old styles I once thought exhausted. A disc-julian, with the power low and the distance a hair's breadth, colour symmetry on the dominant transform tweaked to the point of scratchiness, whose appreciation fully depends on the full view.

Tip: re-aspecting
Leaving aside the verbal coinage of the word (aspect is normally a noun), to what do I refer? Basically, the dimensions, the aspect ratio. This is one of those really simple methods: if your fractal has a final transform, cool. If not, add one and leave it as the default linear since this won't change the fractal at all. Now, say your fractal's square, but you wanted something in a portrait aspect, perhaps 3 x 4. Engage the final transform's post-transform, switch to the Transform tab and amend the relevant X/Y value to give the desired ratio (in this case, setting the Y y-coordinate at 1.3333 provides a 3:4 ratio).
Check out the sequence of screenshots:

Picture of you: my citrus love #1 (lemon & lime mix)

The title is a mashup of The Lotus Eaters 1983 hit 'The First Picture of You' (ah, how that recalls the summers of lost innocence...) and a twist (sic!) on Andrew Marvell's "my vegetable love" from the poem 'To His Coy Mistress'. Sometimes, I feel like a meme-jockey...
