Thank you indeed! For this, I made both disc triangles isosceles, moved one up a little and applied a polar FX :D Then found a decent forest picture and created a gradient from it.
Worth the effort of a custom gradient, then! I browsed loads of forest pics with PicLens, downloaded a bunch and sampled them, but it was the light on this one that's come through.
Fractals are an avatar of consciousness evolution: as they delineate finer levels of detail, so the influence of the whole pervades. The name of the blog was derived from Dislexicon, by feeding in the seed "fractal" - it means "creating many fractals" and jibes rather well with the artist's aim!
All the art on this blog is created using the software program Apophysis. Post work (changes made outside the fractal software) is usually limited to frame and signature, though occasionally I may do a little more - art, not some obscure purism, is what counts.
See the links below for directions to all things Apophysis. For those truly interested, I am happy to answer any queries, although I am not a technical expert!

I love it! Wish I could get that flipped disc thingy to work for me. Powerful colors and form.

Thanks for the hint. I've added the isosceles triangle tip to my list of things to try.
I writhe. This is such an evocative piece, the gradient is magical the way it works. Inspired me again!
